The Engine Lid

The engine lid was modified to increase
airflow into the engine compartment.
This was achieved by cutting the upper
solid sheet metal part of the lid and
covering it with the same type of diamond
perforated mesh as the lower section.

The cumbersome engine lid release handle
found in the cockpit was removed and the
conduit was re-routed to the side of the
engine compartment.

An external release handle was mounted through
the diamond perforated mesh on the driver's
side of the car. The handle used on most GTs
is from a late '60s VW Beetle.
